A NEW CHAPTER FOR NEW HANOVER PREP!
The 2020 school year has certainly been an unconventional one due to the unexpected turn of events with the arrival of the Covid-19 pandemic. New Hanover Prep. has faced and overcome many challenges throughout the school’s history, this being one such significant challenge. The school board, management committee, dedicated team of staff and supportive parents have all worked together to ensure that our NHP children have been able to receive the excellent standard of education that the school is known for.
The second term was a slightly shorter term than usual, which was facilitated online using various teaching platforms. The children worked diligently from home, receiving and submitting work online. The staff and children undoubtedly missed the ‘in-person contact’, but they did their best to stay in
touch with one another and maintain their relationships considering the circumstances. Our third term has seen the children phase back in to “on campus learning’’. The gradual phase-in has seen the various grades attending school on campus on certain days, and continuing to learn
from home supported by the online platforms on the other days. The school has implemented a thorough Covid-19 policy which ensures that we are upholding the highest standards of hygiene and doing everything possible to provide a safe environment for our children and staff at this time.
Although we do not know what the remainder of the year has in store for us, we are certain that, with the incredible team that we have at NHP we will continue to support and provide the best education possible for the children in our care.
