The teachers at New Hanover Prep School attended an informative self-development workshop this week presented
by a clinical psychologist and educational psychologist. This workshop provided a dynamic overview of each learning barrier including causation as well as red flags to assist with detection thereof. Barriers covered were ADHD, dyslexia, dysgraphia and dyscalculia. Autism Spectrum Disorder and Auditory Processing Disorder were also discussed. Teachers were equipped with support strategies, tools and activation methods to use within the classroom.
